We're still here! Sorry for the long silence. With a new baby and my parents being here for the last week blogging hasn't taken top priority.

Mom and Dad arrived last Saturday. It has been great having them here to enjoy little Nathan and entertain Isaiah. Dad left this morning, but Mom will be here another week. She has been working so hard that I'm afraid she will need a vacation when she gets home. :( Today she washed windows for me. It's starting to get dark outside, but I don't want to close the blinds because the windows look so nice!

Isaiah is of course loving having "Pa" and "Ma" here. He hasn't been feeling well the last few days so that has made him a little grumpy. I'll try to post a picture of him soon. I don't want him to think his brother is getting all the attention. I think he's starting to finally notice that Nathan is here. Today I found him putting Rufus on top of Nathan and another time he was filling up Nathan's bouncy seat with balls.

Nathan is doing well. He loves to sleep! He's had a few hard nights, but for the most part even those haven't been bad. Nothing that a few gas drops (baby beer) can't help. We are very grateful to have a good baby! Some days I have to remind myself to sit and hold him. He's so good that it's easy to sit him somewhere and almost forget he's there. He's two weeks old today and I can hardly believe how much he has changed already! Grandpa Funk got the first smile!

If I close now I may be able to read a few or your blogs -no promise on comments though. :)

Thank you for all your comments! I decided if a picture gets that kind of attention I'd better post another picture. :) We are doing well. Nathan is a content baby so far. He does cry, but usually just when he's hungry or needs burped. Of course he's still at the age where he sleeps all the time. I have a hard time waking him up to feed him. We are enjoying him a lot!

Isaiah is adjusting well to the new baby. For the most part he doesn't pay much attention to Nathan, but if we hear "baby" we watch closely because this is usually followed by Isaiah running to Nathan and patting him on the face and saying "nice". His nice is a little harsher than we'd like, but he really is just loving on his little brother. So far he doesn't seem jealous of Nathan. Isaiah has spent several hours the last two mornings at my aunt and uncle's house (they live across the street from us) Isaiah loves being at their place and it has given me some down time for which I've been very grateful!

I thought I posted a picture last night, but now it's gone?? Sorry! I'm also sorry to say that I'm too tired to sit here and wait for it to upload again. I'll try again tomorrow. We're enjoying Nathan. Last night wasn't very good, but how many people have great nights the first night home from the hospital? (don't answer that) Isaiah is doing great with Nathan as well. We don't trust them alone together, but Isaiah loves him. He doesn't like when Nathan cries. Today Nathan was crying and Isaiah quickly brought him Rufus and Puppy, his two favorite stuffed animals. Ahh... I promise I'll try to post a picture soon.

Ready and Waiting

Isaiah's surgery went well yesterday. Here is a picture of him in his stunning purple outfit. Doesn't Jeremy look thrilled! :) I was not allowed to be with him when they put him to sleep because of being pregnant. The last time we went through this they held a gas mask over Isaiah's mouth until he feel asleep. I can still see his little eyes looking at me while he cried his heart out because he didn't know what was going on. I had Jeremy all prepared for this heart wrenching experience. We were at a different surgery center this time and they allowed Jeremy to hold him and just put the gas close to Isaiah's face for a couple of minutes until he fell asleep. What a great idea! Jeremy said he didn't even cry. He was a little fussy when he woke up, but overall he's doing great. You would hardly know anything happened to him except for a few times while he was eating. Praise the Lord it's over.

Good Times

Isaiah learning to close his eyes

  • I decided it was time for a post with a picture! Last night we had a great time with our friends Rodney and Beckee and Ysmaille and Melanie. We meet for dinner at a little tea room to celebrate Beckee's birthday. We had a lot of fun!

I was tempted to post something about having a baby, but since it would be a complete lie I decided against it. Isaiah is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning to have his tongue clipped (second time. :( ). I don't like that he has to go through it again, but hopefully this will take care of the problem. It is also giving me something to focus on.

My friend Charity is going to post the big news here when it does happen so stay posted. Don't start checking every hour or anything though because I do have 1 1/2 weeks until I even reach my due date.
