French Onion Soup

Here's the recipe -finally! :)

4 c. sliced onions
1/4 c. margarine or butter
1/4 c. flour
6 c. water
1/4 c. beef bouillon granules
6 slices French bread, cubed
1 c. grated mozzarella cheese

In a large saucepan saute onions in butter. Cook over low heat until onions are tender, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add water and beef bouillon. Heat until boiling. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

Ladle soup into oven proof bowls and top with French bread. Top with grated cheese and place under broiler until cheese melts and is bubble. Serve immediately.

Note: If you don't have beef bouillon granules, you can use beef broth -half broth and half water.

Let me know what you think of this recipe. We love it!

Here are a few pictures. I don't really have much to say so I'll let the pictures speak. Michelle, I will post the recipe soon!

Cousins

Delton and Charity came to visit us this evening. (thanks!) We had a really nice visit and Isaiah and his second cousin Ezra got to know each other a little better.

I don't like to post pictures of myself on here, but I thought I'd make an exception. I got my hair cut a week ago. I think she must have taken off 4-5 inches. I just have to say that if you've had long hair for a long time you should try something different. It's a lot of fun for some reason. I don't get my hair cut real often so I figured I'd make it worth the money, and I'm very glad I did!

V-Day cookie

yes, we allowed him to eat the whole thing. He loved it!

Supper

This is French Onion Soup. May not look great, but tastes awesome! This is one of our all time favorite things. Thanks, LaRonda, for the recipe!

Watching Daddy Shovel Snow

Breakfast

Here are a few pictures from our Valentine's Day. Jeremy was off work because of the snow so we had an extra special day. Jeremy and I are now waiting for Isaiah's bedtime to roll around so that we can watch "Over the Hedge".

Word Verification

Does anyone else ever have trouble with word verifications when you leave a comment on someone's blog? Charity, I left a comment on your blog tonight, but no letters showed up in the verification box. It's like that part of the page never downloaded. I know these verification things are for security reasons, but I couldn't even see the letters!! Just thought I'd vent a little. :) happy Friday!

Hair picture

Here's a picture of "The Haircut" in process. (thanks for the reminder Rhonda!) I tried posting this the other night, but it didn't work. He does look better with the hair cut. I'll post and "after" picture soon. I can't say it's very straight, but it looks better.

At long last

I've been away too long. I haven't even had a chance to check other blogs for the last few days. I decided I'd better update mine before I start looking around. Here are a few notes from the last week or so.

-it's cold here. Ok, so I guess 30's F isn't all that cold, but it feels cold. I'm a wimp I know.

-we've been visited by several different sicknesses at our house over the last few weeks. Jeremy missed a day of work due to the flu. We so rarely get flu stuff here that we didn't have anything for him to take. We did, however, have ginger ale and crackers thanks to morning sickness. :) Isaiah has been hit with several different things. I think he's getting some new teeth so that might be the main pain, but that's not all of it. Last Friday he was throwing up. This is the first time he's been throwing-up-sick. I was very glad when that passed. Then he had diarrhea. I thought throwing up was bad. :( Now I think he's over the other stuff, but is fighting a bad cold. Poor little guy.

-I wish Isaiah wasn't sick, but I do have to admit I love having him just sit on my lap for long periods of time. He's fallen asleep like that twice in the last few days. He melts my heart!

-I am just finishing up my 11th week of pregnancy and I'm starting to feel better! Praise the Lord! I was starting to think I'd never be normal again.

-Last week Isaiah got his first hair cut. We kept putting it off, but we're glad we did it now. He needed it! It's not very even at a couple spots, but it will grow. He was very interested in the scissors.

I don't know what else to write so I will sign off.
