Friday Night

I'm feeling the need to update, but not sure what to say. I'm starting to think seriously about Christmas shopping. Could this possible be the year that I actually get it done early? If a new baby doesn't get me moving what will?!

Before Christmas, however, is fall. My favorite season of all. Sweatshirts and jeans, apple pies and pumpkin rolls, leaves and mums, it doesn't get much better. Bring it on!

Last night I made a roasted tomato and fresh basil soup for supper. It was great and was even healthy. It even smelled healthy.

Isaiah has started speech therapy. Many of you know this has been a concern of ours for awhile. Especially since he was tongue tied until he was 21 months old. It's encouraging to see him making progress. He enjoys his teacher and all her toys too so it's something he looks forward too. If you ever have a baby that is tongue tied fight to have them clipped it at birth. It's worth it.

Nathan is doing great. Thank you for all your prayers. I took him back to our family doctor on Wednesday. It felt great to leave with a healthy child this time. The ENT doctor still wants to see him. I'd like to skip that appointment, we've had a lot lately, but I guess we'll go to one more.

I've forgotten, again, what week of pregnancy I'm in. I used to think that people that forgot such important things were crazy. Hmmm... I just know I have three more months to go. I think. Jeremy, bless his heart, looked at me one day and said "I guess they aren't like a month off or something". :( I'm very grateful for a healthy pregnancy and baby so far. If weight gain comes with that I guess I'll be thankful for that too.

I've taken on a new adventure and decided to sell Avon. Mostly because I don't know anyone that sells it and I really like some of their products. They have the best eye makeup remover I've ever used, and I've tried a lot.

Jeremy and I are getting ready to watch a movie. Nothing like a date night at home on a Friday night. :) Right now Jeremy is telling the boys a story about Brother Hans and Brother Jonathan racing around their house and their Dad scaring them. Isaiah is eating it up.

Life

I think I should call this picture "teeth"! I found this sleeping bag at a yard sale for $1.00. I was pleased and the boys loved playing with it.

I feel it's time to update. What to say. Life seems to be spinning out of control. How do we get so busy? What have we been up to?

• I took Isaiah to the doctor yesterday. He's healthy, but we are going to have him evaluated by a speech therapist. His speech continues to get better, but there are still some things that he has trouble saying. Often the beginning sounds of a word are missing. For example car would be "ar". There is no lack of words in his brain it's just a matter of pronouncing them correctly. I have no idea what to expect with a speech therapist, but hopefully he will enjoy it and learn from it.


• I took Nathan to Wal-mart last night to get his pictures taken. He just looked at the lady with a sober face. We did finally get a smile out of him, but it took him awhile to warm up to her. For what I paid I'm pleased with the picture I got. Nathan has a fascination with putting things into things. This morning Jeremy found a matchbox car in each of his work boots. This morning I also I found a toy helicopter in Jeremy's lunchbox. The boys have two matchbox cars that have removable wheels. (Probably not intended to be removable, but if it comes off Nathan will figure it out). Over that last few weeks almost all of the 8 wheels on these two cars have gone missing. This doesn't bother Nathan a bit, but it drives his older brother nuts. Sunday I caught Nate crawling under his bed. when he came out he was holding a little cement mixing truck and was pointing inside the tank on the back and saying "wheel". When I investigated I discovered all the wheels that we had been missing. Often when things go missing around her poor Nathan gets blamed.
• Jeremy is staying busy with construction work. We are very grateful for the work he has been getting. The lack of a consistent schedule is a bit hard to get used to, but I'm adjusting.
• Not much is new in my life. Just trying to stay caught up and on top of life. I continue to gain weight much quicker with this pregnancy than I did with the other two. Is because it's my third pregnancy, because it's a girl, or because I'm just plain down eating too much? (no need to answer that question :))

Well...

The ultrasound lady person thinks we're having a girl! We don't have any pictures with "three lines" like I've seen, but there were no boy parts that we could see. I was hoping for a more certain answer, but that's life with ultrasounds. We'll know for sure in about 20 weeks. I'd say we're maybe 80% sure it's a girl, but we'd better have a boys name ready too. :)

It's always so exciting to see the baby moving around. Such a miracle. Before I was a mother I used to wonder how it was possible to be as excited for a second or third child as you are with your first. I should not have worried! I can hardly wait for December -boy or girl. :)

Sunday Night

We've had a good weekend. Last week we had VBS at church each night so we enjoyed a day at home yesterday. Jeremy and I each accomplished some "work" and then spent time relaxing. Last night we played our third game of Catan Cities and Knights. It's growing on us. The first game was a complete waste of time. There is a lot to learn, but we like it. Have you played it?

One of Jeremy's ongoing projects over the last few weeks has been taking down a play set at my grandparents house that they didn't want anymore, bringing it to our yard and then setting it up again. It turned out to be a bigger job than he anticipated, but it was well worth it. The boys love their new "fort"! We even ate lunch in it yesterday. As I type this Jeremy and Isaiah are out there reading a book. Bill Peet is the choice for tonight.

My Saturday was full of home type stuff like making zucchini bread, laundry, cleaning the bathroom that sort of fun stuff. I also tried to return a book to the library that was overdue, but the night drop box was locked. That was rather annoying. Kind of thought a night drop box was there so I could drop off books after hours. Hmm.

Good Morning

I really need to get to work, but decided to say hi.

• I got at 6:15 to walk with my aunt this morning. It always seems like a really bad idea when the alarm goes off, but I feel great when we're done.
• I have a bunch of hamburger and ground turkey thawing out. I found a good sale a couple weeks ago and now I plan to make stuff for my freezer. What would you make? I'm thinking of beef burritos, taco meat, meatloaf, meatballs. Hmmm... So many options. I LOVE having prepared food in the freezer.
• Last Saturday I washed the windows in the living room. They looked great when I was finished, but now I see streaks. :(
• I went to BB's yesterday. I always spend so much money there, but each time I go I think I do a better job of buying things we use and need rather than ending up with a bunch of junk that I buy because it's so cheap.
• Yesterday I was trying to explain to Isaiah that Mommy and Daddy don't have money to buy him everything he wants. He's response: "I'm sorry you don't have lots of money". We've been talking about starting to have him "earn" an allowance. What age is the right age to start giving an allowance? I told him soon he can earn some money so then he can save up to buy things he wants. He told me "Can you just earn it for me? I'm too little".
• I am amazed at how much this baby is moving! Maybe by the third one you just know better it feels like. We find out in two weeks if this is a boy or a girl. I'm guessing a boy. We'll see.
• I can't think of anything else to say so I guess that means I need to get to work.

We have a date

I had my first doctor's appointment today. I do not like going to the doctor, but I was actually excited about this one. I wanted someone to confirm for me that I am pregnant and that I haven't just been sick for 4 weeks. There's a baby in there! I love seeing that little heart beating. They've given me a due date of December 8. I know they say each pregnancy goes faster that the last, but December feels like along ways off.

In other news my parents get here tomorrow and Brandon and Cindy fly in on Sunday. Matt's will join us next Thursday through Sunday. We're excited to all be together again for the first time in a year. I'll try to update once in awhile, but I'm not promising anything. :)

Back again

Thank you for all of your comments! Here are a few answers:

• Yes, I've been sick. I was sick with Isaiah, more sick with Nate, and this one is worse than the last two. Does is keep getting worse with each pregnancy? I can't imagine. I feel like I'm slowly getting a handle on what works and what doesn't. The first two weeks of true sickness where bad. I pretty much laid on the couch. It was overwhelming to say the least. Jeremy has been great. He helps out so much. One day he bought me a Snickers bar because he knows how much I like them. Wouldn't you know that is about the only thing that I have repeatedly kept down? We just keep buying them. I keep reminding myself that once I'm through this sick stuff the snickers must stop! Strawberry ice cream has been a hit too. I've been trying to take vitamin B6, but so far I don't think I've kept enough down to make any difference. I do feel like I'm able to at least function now. Still sick about everyday, but I'm also still moving! Very thankful!
• I haven't been to a doctor yet, but I figure I'm probably around 9 weeks. We didn't want to tell people this early, but with how I was feeling we just decided to do it. Last week at our church's ladies meeting I told the other four ladies that were there (all close friends/family) and asked them to pray for me. the next day I had a better day. I know prayer helps! As far as a due date I'm looking at somewhere in December.
• I feel like I've just complained through this whole post. We are very excited about a third child! I feel so blessed to be pregnant (even with being a little sick) and to already have two children. I would not trade this sickness for anything. I pray almost daily for people that I know that aren't pregnant, but would like to be pregnant. So please know that I am just updating you on how I'm feeling and not complaining.
• Lastly, we had fun telling Isaiah about the baby. I'm sure he doesn't totally get it yet, but he seems to understand it a little. I think it helps that we've been talking about his Aunt Angela having a baby. He has said several times "It will either be a girl or a boy". (thankfully!) and he thinks it should be a girl so we can call her "she". He also told me that Puppy and Rufus were in his belly for awhile, but now they came out. I guess the fact that only girls can be pregnant didn't sink in yet. :)
