Monday Morning

It's Monday morning and I have a long list of things to do, but I decided to first take time to update this blog. (I tried to make that sound like updating my blog was a very important thing to do. Actually, I'm just being a little lazy)

On April 17th Jeremy and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. On Saturday we dropped the boys off at Jeremy's parents so we could get away together for a few hours. We spent several hours at City Park. We looked around the art gallery in the "mansion" on the hill. They feature local artists. We also spent time at the main art gallery in the park. Saturday was a beautiful day so we also spent time just walking around the park for awhile. City park is such a beautiful old park. After the park we ate a delicious dinner at the olive gardens. We finished off our romantic date with a trip to Toys 'r Us. :)

We have been enjoying beautiful spring/summer weather. Isaiah is enjoying his sandbox again. On Friday I put shorts on him for the first time this summer. At first he was a little frustrated because he thought he didn't understand why his legs weren't covered. I figured that would be a problem, but he soon got over it. Once again I'm very grateful for our fenced in back yard. He is already enjoying it a lot.

After several weeks (maybe months!) Nathan finally cut two new teeth. He is an active 8 month old. I can't believe the places he can get to. The other day he pulled a carpet sample off of our coffee table. I'm still not sure how he reached it, but when I found him he was playing with it on the floor. It is not uncommon for me to walk into the living room and not be able to find him right away because he's under an end table or back in a corner somewhere. He still is just sliding around on his belly, but is starting to try to get up on all fours. He is a constant reminder to keep the flours cleaned!

I'd better get some work done. I'll try to post some pictures soon.

8 Months

Nathan is 8 months old today. I can hardly believe it. Aside from cutting teeth he is a pretty good baby. He is almost crawling. He slides around on his belly and boy is he fast! I really have to keep an eye on him. I don't remember Isaiah going for things like cords and plants as much as Nathan does, but maybe I just forget. We also have to keep a close eye on what Isaiah gives him. So far it hasn't been anything too dangerous. He loves to watch Isaiah from his crib. Isaiah of course loves this and it isn't uncommon to see him hanging out of his bed laughing at Nathan, or as Isaiah calls it "playing dokes (jokes)" on him. They are so much fun.

Nathan loves to eat Cheerios, carrots, sweat potatoes and bananas (if they are mashed enough, otherwise he makes the most comical gagging faces). He hasn't mastered a sippy cup, but we're working at it.

I'm not sure what he weighs, but I don't think he's gained much since his 6 month check up. I think his growing has finally slowed down. I forget how big he is until I see him sitting beside other smaller babies. He is a very fun baby to squeeze on because of all that chub.

Great-Grandparents

I took the boys to visit their Great-Grandparents (Dad's parents) the other day. We had a very nice visit. Isaiah loved all the smarties Grandma gave him. :) You'll notice on the second picture that Nathan is longing for some smarties too. Last night for the first time Isaiah complained to me because Nathan was getting into his stuff. They are growing up so quickly

Update

I've decided it's time for an updated, but as I type this Nathan is crying out for attention so we'll see how it goes.

-I am so ready for spring. I guess it's kind of here, but I'd like to see a week of sunny 60 degree weather. We did have one day in the 70's.

-Isaiah has been playing with Easter eggs for the last two days. He carries them around or puts them in different things. I'm glad to see him playing with normal toys. Some days he spends hours playing with Jeremy's legos. Mostly the little people. He loves to take their heads (!), hats and helmets off. I checked on him the other day and he had a little pile of helmets, a little pile of hats and a pile of people. He is growing up so quickly. He talks all the time and is getting pretty good at it. I just heard him calling for Jeremy -who taught him to say "Dad" instead of "Daddy"? I'd like to know where he learns this stuff. Oh yeah, he talks at home, but his Sunday school teacher says she never hears him talk in class.

-Nathan is fighting his way to two new teeth, at least I hope that's the problem. He's had us up that last two nights and is just generally not very happy. He is almost crawling, but mostly he pulls himself around on his belly. He does pretty good at sitting, but I keep putting him on the floor hoping he'll crawl. I figure he can learn to sit later. I've heard of babies not crawling, but I've never heard of babies not sitting. He loves his older brother and Isaiah loves him.

-Several weeks ago I bought some new dish clothes. They were red and white and I was very pleased to have them because my other ones were nasty. The first time I washed them I noticed a little pink on a few other items in the load, but nothing major. The second time I washed them I used hot water and wow, pink, pink, pink. (looked like I was doing Robyn's laundry!) I've tried everything, but most of the stuff is still pink. I bought bleach today. Here's the question, what do I do with the dish clothes?

-In about one month my whole family is going to be together for the first time since Christmas 2006. Three babies have been born since then. This will be the first time that Matt's and us will meet Anna Lee (10 months) and it will be the first time Brandon and Cindy meet Nathan (8 m. when we get together) and Ellie (3 m) Should be fun! I can hardly wait.

-Microwave cooking is not something I'm usually tempted to try, but I came across this recipe and decided to try it. It was actually pretty good! I also made this cheesecake recipe for my mother-in-law for her birthday. It was incredible if I must say so myself. I do not recommend this if you are on a diet.
